About Malala Yousafzai

Malala Yousafzai is a young Pakistani woman who was born in 1997. The shadow of the Taliban weighed heavily over her childhood and adolescence, and at the age of 11 she decided to start a blog for the BBC about life under religious extremists. She was shot in 2012, but she survived and became known across the world. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 and currently lives in England.
