About Room
Room tells the story of five-year-old Jack and his mother Ma, who are both imprisoned in a single cramped room with no access to the outside world. Ma is regularly visited by the sinister Old Nick, the man who abducted her as a teenager, but her discovery that he is in financial trouble and may kill them rather than let his secret get out leads her to hatch a bold escape plan.
The novel garnered popular and critical acclaim, topping bestseller list around the world and being named one of the six best novels of 2010 by The New York Times. A film adaptation was released in 2015 and was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, with Brie Larson winning Best Actress for her performance as Ma.
