About NW
NW tells the story of a group of people who all grew up in the same part of north-west London, but whose lives have taken them in very different directions. Natalie Blake is now a successful lawyer (and has changed her name from Keisha to better fit her new image); Leah Hanwell, Natalie’s childhood friend, cannot help but feel the distance that is now between them; Felix Cooper is working to get his life back on track after drug addiction; and Nathan Bogle is living on the streets. The novel garnered widespread critical acclaim, and was nominated for the 2013 Women’s Prize for Fiction. It was also the subject of a BBC adaptation in 2016.
